Best Apps to install on your Chromebook
Now that the play store has come to Chromebooks, there are millions of different apps there, but also cloud apps became very popular as well. So I made a list here of my favorite apps that I use on my Chromebooks and would suggest anyone try it out. They are not in any specific order.
1. Photopea
I will start with Photopea, one of my favorite sites. Basically, it's a very similar app to Photoshop, but the cool thing about it is free and cloud base, so you don't need to download it, it straight working from your browser, So the free option is fully functional and you get all the tools you needed, the only difference between paid and free is there is an advertisement on a side of the site. I use Photopea for already few years and I love it.
2. VLC
VLC is probably the best video player out there for Chromebooks. It's a free and open-source app. VlC is available on almost all devices, including Windows, Chrome OS, IOS, and Android. I love how many video files VLC supports, that includes 3GP,[a] ASF, AVI, DVR-MS, FLV, Matroska (MKV), MIDI,[b] QuickTime File Format, MP4, Ogg, OGM, WAV, MPEG-2 (ES, PS, TS, PVA, MP3), AIFF, Raw audio, Raw DV, MXF, VOB, RM, Blu-ray, DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, CD-DA, DVB, HEIF, AVIF. I use it on my Chromebook, but also on my Windows computer.
3. Office Suite
It's hard to find a free document editing app, and I think this is probably the best one out there. OfficeSuite was developed by MobiSystems. The version is available for all Androids, IOS, and Microsoft Windows.
Open files: DOC, DOCX, DOCM, XLS, XLSX, XLSM, PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX, PPTM, PPSM, RTF, TXT, LOG, CSV, EML, ZIP, ODT, ODS, OD
Save/Save as files: DOC, DOCX, DOCM, XLS, XLSX, XLSM, PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX, PPTM, PPSM, RTF, TXT, LOG, CSV, EML, ZIP, ODT, ODS, ODP
Give it a try, especially since it's free no subscription is needed. Also, it has an offline option.

4. Adobe Lightroom
I personally don't use this app, but people keep telling me that it's just amazing and works perfectly on Chromebook. So I thought I would include this app on my list. Adobe Lightroom is an image editing and image manipulation app that was developed by Adobe Inc. It is supported on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and tvOS (Apple TV). The app is capable of importing, saving, viewing, organizing, tagging, editing, and sharing large numbers of digital images. Lightroom's editing also can include white balance, presence, tone, tone curve, HSL, color grading, detail, lens corrections, and calibration manipulation, as well as transformation, spot removal, red eye correction, graduated filters, radial filters, and adjustment brushing.
5. ReadEra
This one is probably not for everyone, but if you like me and enjoy reading books on your Chromebook screen, this app is your best bet. ReadEra is a book-reading app that supports almost all book files out there. Here is the list of files it supports: PDF, EPUB, Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX, RTF), Kindle (MOBI, AZW3), DJVU, FB2, TXT, ODT, and CHM formats. Also, another benefit of this app is that it's AD free. It's easy to navigate and has a beautiful interface.
6. Squid
Squid is a popular android app for note-taking and probably one of the best. It works fast and flawlessly on Chromebook and most importantly it supports a stylus pen. It's also very convenient if you are a student or you just simply have some project that you working on and need to take some notes.
